The above quote speaks for itself. When a friend or loved one is having a hard time we find it easy to be kind and offer positive words of advice. Yet when we find ourselves in a similar situation we beat ourselves up, we are hard on ourselves, we are overly critical of how we handled the situation. It’s crazy, because we wouldn’t tell our best friend that they acted in a stupid manner, or that they could have done everything different, so why should we accept that self-limiting, soul-crushing talk from ourselves?
The next time you face a difficult situation, try to remember to be kind and gentle with yourself.
