Soothing Sunday.

Card drawn from The Sacred Self-Care Oracle.

Baths aren’t just for washing our bodies, they can be used for time out for ourselves. If it is safe for you to do so you could light candles, incense sticks, and play relaxing music.

Use this time to wash away things that no longer serve you, don’t just “see” these unwanted thoughts, situations, experiences, and so on, wash away from you as you wash yourself. Feel the unwanted feelings, etc, leave you.

Spend as much time as you need to immersed in the water. Imagine that the water is restoring you physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Once you feel ready, dry yourself down and then pamper yourself with moisturiser and your favourite perfume. Treating yourself to an immersive, relaxing experience such as this allows us to put our own needs first and care for ourselves.

Younique 3D+ Mascara.

The first thing I want to say about these products is that I have not tried any of them myself, but that said, I know quite a few people who have tried these products and have said that they are much better than their usual make up products.

Today I want to focus on the launch of the the Younique 3D+ mascara.  When we use mascara we are doing so to achieve long, sexy looking lashes.  As one of the most commonly used make up items mascara comes in many varieties, whether that be your normal run-of-the-mill dry mascara or one of the waterproof varieties.  Whatever variety you choose you are most likely aiming to have long, luscious lashes.  We wear mascara because we know that it will make our lashes darker, longer and thicker, drawing attention to our eyes and giving us the confidence to be who we want to be.

Younique’s new 3D+ mascara claims to plump your lashes up to 400% thicker, compared to bare lashes and after three applications they claim your lashes will look 2000% thicker.  As this a new product launching today I cannot personally vouch for any authenticity, but my friend Jody sells these products and I trust her judgement when it comes to such matters as beauty and make-up.

The products Younique offer are good for you too.  Paraben free, carcinogen free, chemical free, hypoallergenic, not tested on animals and even gluten free.  When it comes to buying make-up these things really make a difference to so many of us and it’s good to know that the products offered here are ticking all of the right boxes.

I hear many good things about Younique and I hear some bad things too.  The negative things tend to be about how you can buy similar products at your local beauty shop and I guess that will be true to a certain extent.  But what if you don’t get out much to go shop for beauty products?  What if you online shop?  A company like Younique would be perfect for all of your beauty needs and you know you are getting a reliable product that is free from all of the harmful chemicals some of the much cheaper products still contain.  Again, I have never used these products so I am not speaking from experience, which is a shame, but I do know people who have bought products from Younique and have never had any issues and have loved the products they sell.  I have to confess, I do not wear a lot of make-up and that is the main reason why I have yet to try this product range, but I am definitely going to be trying out some of these products in the near future.

For all things Younique, including the new mascara range, you can check out Jody’s online shop here.  You can also read about Jody’s Younique business here.  Jody also has a Facebook page where you can keep up to date with the latest product news and any events that are being held, follow this link to be redirected to her Facebook page.  Jody’s make-up range can also be found on Pinterest and G+.

E45 Review

This post first appeared on on April 16th 2013

I have a patch of dry skin that never seems to be hydrated enough, no matter what I use. A few years back I had tried the E45 range but was never really sold on it, it always seemed to leave my skin feeling greasy afterwards. That said, it did do the trick with the dry skin I had experienced back then, but I was always reluctant to buy any more of it as the after effects it had put me off.

When I was accepted for this trial I did wonder what I was going to do with the big bottles of lotion I was sent. I envisaged using the product once and discarding it, due to the greasy residue it had previously left on my skin.
I couldn’t have been more surprised. The lotion is light and leaves my skin feeling so soft – and it has cleared my problem areas up too – a win/win situation.

This is definitely a product I would recommend to all of my family and friends. It is a product I will be only too happy to purchase after this trial is over.

Wonderful product that leaves your skin soft and hydrated.

Review of Easy Veet Wax.

This post first appeared on on July 2nd 2013

Not being a huge fan of at home waxing products I was keen to see if this new system had indeed made this process any easier. I had high hopes about the product, after reading the blurb that came with it and reading some bits and pieces online I thought that this was going to be the product that actually sold me on at home waxing.

How wrong I was !!!

I found the product very difficult to use and it certainly did not remove ANY of my leg hair. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am, but I guess that’s just how it is.

There is no way I will be buying this product in the future and I am still not a convert to at home waxing.

Sure Review

This post first appeared on on February 16th 2013.

As a member of the Bzz campaign I am asked to take part in trials and surveys, testing out goods and so on. My first trial was the new sure compressed deodorants. I understood what they were trying to sell and I looked forward to my parcel arriving.
When it arrived I wasn’t certain that the product would live up to the claims the company were making. Those claims were that the smaller, compressed tin of deodorant would last just as long as the 150ml size tins. I read all of the literature that came with the package and understood that the nozzle has been changed so that less gas sprays out, but more antiperspirant ingredient is delivered. This technology allows for a smaller sized tin, less packaging, more environmentally friendly.

I haven’t actually bought a 150ml size tin for a while now so I am unable to show the difference directly, however, I can say this; I buy the 250ml size tins of sure deodorant as I always find the smaller tins don’t last as long as I want them to. The trial was always going to be interesting for me, I wanted to see how much use I was going to get out of this new size, how long it was going to last for and if it lives up to the hype that is surrounding it.

So far, I have been using it for 11 days and I still have what feels like at least 3/4 of a tin. I use the product twice a day – same great smell, same great freshness and the product lasts just as long as the usual size tins do. In the past when I have used smaller tins I would probably be over half empty by this stage – 11 days. At this point in the trial I can safely say that the product is living up to its hype and lasting longer than a regular size tin of sure.

It is understandable for any person to be a little dubious about the claims sure are making with regards to this product. But I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this product does exactly what it is supposed to and lives up to the claims sure are making about it.

Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed. The price is just the same too, so you really have nothing to lose.
