New chapter.

It was my birthday recently and for the first time since I was 16 I felt amazing. The day was quiet. I spent it doing normal day to day stuff, then went out for afternoon tea with my husband.

Happiness. Simple pleasures.

I began 2022 with the intention of healing. That was my theme of the year. I wouldn’t say I’m healed completely, but so much darkness has lifted from me. So much clarity.

Moving forward knowing that I’m recovering.

Be You.

We talk a lot about being authentic, showing up as our authentic selves. Doing the work on our own inner garden, inner selves, will allow us to be just us. No pretence. No mask for the world to see, just our own brilliant selves.

It’s actually harder than you might think, to be 100% authentically ourselves. There are many faces we present to the outside world, masks that protect us from scorn, ridicule, fear, judgment. We are often afraid to be ourselves.

Showing up just as you are can present many challenges, but the rewards are plentiful. There’s no need to pretend to be someone you’re not. There’s no need to lie about anything, being yourself requires no falsehood.

You may lose people along the way. That is a price worth paying, I believe anyway. If people can’t be around you when you’re being yourself then you have to ask what part of your truth offends or triggers them?

Being yourself doesn’t mean shouting and hurling abuse. Being yourself means letting go of anger. Being yourself means living your truth. You’re not hurting anyone, so any offence others feel is their issue to deal with, not yours.

Be you. Love you. ❤️

Pause for thought.

Shut down the drama in your life. It is unhealthy. Arguing and fighting creates dis-ease. Stay away from negative, selfish, energy-draining relationships that do not honor you, or even worse -use you, abuse you, and take advantage of your kindness. Do not buy into their negativity or guilt trips. Resolve to live in peace. Do not attempt to change others. There is enough work to do on yourself. Develop relationships where all parties can grow, and create an atmosphere of mutual respect, love, and appreciation. Free yourself from inner chaos by meditation, relaxation, and stillness. What you create inside of yourself will manifest outside yourself. Create a sanctuary where you can live in peace, relax your mind, revive your spirit, and renew your purpose. You have GREATNESS within you!!

Message for Monday 28/03/2022.

It’s ok not to have everything worked out. It’s ok to feel like you have no idea what you’re doing. It’s ok to feel lost sometimes.

Keep moving forward. One step at a time. Be present, live in the moment. Don’t dwell on the past and don’t try to see too far into the future. Live in the here and now. Life will make more sense and you will find your way once more.

Allowing Your Soul to Shine

Today’s post is shared from Daily Om.

When we hide and try to be invisible and unseen by all, we are only really hiding from ourselves.

At times, we’ve all wanted to crawl under a rock and hide away from the world. We may have preferred to be invisible rather than let other people see us or notice that we exist. This desire not to be seen often happens when we are feeling very hurt, angry, or simply weary of the world. And while we may console ourselves with the defense that we are shy, an introvert, or a loner, we may actually be hiding.

When we hide and make believe that we are invisible, we can think that no one sees us even though, truthfully, we are only really hiding from ourselves. And while we may try to live life as inconspicuously as possible, we only succeed in becoming more conspicuous because people can’t help but notice that we are trying to hide our light. None of us are meant to hide; each one of us radiates a unique brilliance that is meant to illuminate the world. When we try to dim our light, we diminish the natural radiance of the Universe, and we deprive the people around us of the unique gifts and talents that we are here to share.

Stepping out of the wings and letting your light shine is actually a way to serve the planet. We each have a responsibility to contribute to our community, and we do this when we let ourselves be seen. It doesn’t do anyone any good when we try to hide. We are all beings of light and we are here to light the way for each other. When we let ourselves shine, we become a bright mirror that others can see their own reflected brilliance through, and they can’t help but want to shine also. Shine your light out into the world, bless those around you by sharing your gifts, and watch the universe glow.

Monday Musing – 24/01/2021.

This Hamsa hand is a beautiful decoration that adorns my home. It also is used as a protection amulet to ward off the evil eye, or in other words, bad vibes being sent my way. People can send bad vibes even without thinking, although there are some who will deliberately rain on your parade.

Vibes, energy, call it what you will. Everything is made of energy. We are made of energy. I can’t explain this from a scientific point of view, I’m not even going to pretend I know how to. But from a magickal point of view – and yes, I’m “one of them” who uses a k in the spelling of magick. I have been doing so since my late teens and I don’t really care what anyone else thinks of me for spelling it this way. But I digress: from a magickal point of view energy can be shaped – or bent at will – for any reason.

I’m not naïve enough to think that someone, somewhere, at some point hasn’t thought negatively about me. This is where my amulet comes in – along with my energy poured into it. It’s not going to stop people thinking bad thoughts about me or my family, but it does protect us from the effects as it reminds me to focus on protective energy whenever I look at it.

The Hamsa hand meaning has a long and important history that spans centuries and civilizations. It is adored in several major religions and is globally recognised as a symbol of protection and good fortune. It’s protective use is what I’m interested in.

I got my hasma hand as part of a set of protective items I was buying, but the hasma hand can be purchased from many metaphysical shops, Amazon, and so on. Buying an expensive one won’t work any better than one that’s cost a fiver. The power is in the symbolism and whatever energy you put into yourself.

It isn’t the only tool I use for protection, it’s part of my witchy arsenal. As with any item used for spiritual or witchy purposes, it’s the intent that comes from you that really seals the deal. When my kids were little I couldn’t have any witchcraft paraphernalia on display because they’d have had their hands all over it. I soon learnt that none of that stuff mattered, it was intent and visualisation that brought everything together.

That said, I can never resist a pretty and inexpensive item and these hands are usually decorated with gorgeous colours that are pleasing on the eye.
